Studio video editing software. Navigate to System Preferences - Trackpad and ensure tap to click is selected. If it already is then try doing a SMC reset. Shut down the computer. Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected. Nov 19, 2016 Reboot the Mac as usual from the Apple menu When the Mac has booted back up, and assuming the mouse still isn’t clicking, close the lid and put the MacBook to sleep. Open the MacBook lid and use the computer as normal, the mouse / trackpad should click as usual again. My 2008 MacBook Pro can point but not click. Control-click through two-finger tap works. Unfortunately, the hardware mouse and Bluetooth mouse did not work. The trackpad had started to balk at clicking, so I suspect the cause is hardware failure. I came up with a solution not mentioned in your list. If the trackpad on your Mac is not working at all. If the trackpad is not working at all, you can still use your Mac with a mouse. Connect any mouse to your Mac over Bluetooth or with a cable, then go to System Preferences Accessibility Pointer Control. Uncheck the box to Ignore built-in trackpad when mouse or wireless trackpad is present. Ok, this may seem a little weird. My trackpad had the exact same issue and I solved it by blowing in it rather hard. Press your lips on the side that is not 'clicking' correctly and blow a few times. Make sure your lips build a good seal though. Or, a short burst of air from a can of can'ed air. May really just be dust/crumbs stuck under there.

Macbook Pro Mouse Not Clicking
Greetings all.
I was last on here with an Iphoto problem that has yet to be solved.
I live in Belize and my screen went on 2017 Macbook Pro I was trying to put the photos from iphoto to Photos on.
A friend got a Macbook Pro on Ebay for me and it has taken since March 27 with Covid crisis to get it here.
It is a 2009-2010, has El Capitan screensaver so i assume that's what it's running?
It boots very slow and will not click on anything, like 'About this Mac' or Systems Management for more details.
i have read a dozen fixes, they all paradoxically involve clicks to solve the no-click problem.
This is my 9th or 10th mac in 15 years here, pretty discouraging.
They all die premature deaths and Apple doesn't see enough profit to open a store here.
Stay safe, any help appreciated, Thanks in advance.
